Neko-Bu-Kai is an organisation with over 40 years of experience, founded in Bergamo – Italy – and now established in the UK. Located in the outskirts of Oxford, Neko-Bu-Kai offers the opportunity to practise different disciplines founded on a shared principle:
Martial Arts as a means for personal growth and development.
KARATE-DO
A collective and individual path of personal growth and development that continues the tradition of Shotokan Karate as originally codified by Master Funakoshi, and later carried forward in the modern era by Master Hirokazu Kanazawa. The School promotes Karate as a traditional approach to physical training for both mind and body.
TAISŌ
Taisō is a Japanese term used to describe a practice aimed at strengthening and training the body. In a broader sense, it refers to any exercise intended to prepare the body for physical activity. Due to its blend of techniques, it is an extremely scalable practice, capable of adapting to the preparation of competitive athletes as well as to musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
KOBUJUTSU
Kobujutsu is taught as part of traditional karate, reviving the original Okinawan approach where empty-hand and weapon techniques were practiced together, preserving karate’s heritage while enhancing coordination and technical depth.
One TRUE way
The way of the Martial Arts is one and only: to conquer oneself, to engage with the world, and to improve— both as practitioners and as individuals. Our Martial Arts courses include interdisciplinary workshops designed to share techniques and exchange experiences, embodying the concept of Shoshin: the beginner’s mind.
